Itinerary
Day 1
Meals Included Today: Welcome Dinner
- The first day is an arrival day, since flight arrival times may vary there will be no activities the first day.
- Pick up times vary throughout the day, and can accommodate your request.
- You will be greeted and transported to the beautiful Anchor Down Bed and Breakfast.
- Feel free to take a mountain bike to enjoy the scenic coastal community of Rocky Harbour, and enjoy one of our fine restaurants ocean side.
- Return to The Anchor Down Bed and Breakfast for a quiet and comfortable night sleep.

Day 2
Meals Included Today: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Begin the morning at 7:30am.
- Enjoy breakfast with guides and other guest for those you haven’t met already.
- Also there will be an orientation during and after breakfast.
- Begin at 8:30am and transported to the water taxi in Norris Point, and board with our bikes to head to the beautiful town of Woody Point, begin our bike up a steep grade to the Discovery Centre for a brief visit before we begin our hike to the top of the Big Look Out, one of the best panoramic views in all of Gros Morne National Park.
- Moose are usually spotted in this area due to low lying tuckamore (weather stunted balsam fir and black spruce) that makes for easy browsing.
- We begin our descent then eat lunch at 12:00pm and begin biking again to the Spectacular Tablelands, a piece of the earth’s mantle that has been exposed due to glacial ice ages, and is one of the main reason’s Gros Morne National Park got its U.N.E.S.C.O world heritage status.
- Take a break and head back to catch the boat at the town Woody Point, and travel back on the water taxi to the beautiful town of Norris Point.
- Once back in Norris Point we will then head to the bed and breakfast by mountain bike arriving back in Rocky Harbour at about 6:30pm.
- Feel free to enjoy one of our many fine restaurants in Rocky Harbour.

Day 3
Meals Included Today: Breakfast and Lunch
- Today we begin at 9:00am in the morning with a healthy breakfast and head out on the trail to complete a hike of Gros Morne Mountain, standing 806m above sea-level.
- The trail begins with a gently climb to the base of the mountain, and then from there we begin with a steep incline up a rock covered valley.
- Once on top, we will cross an Artic Alpine Tundra, and its inhabitant Woodland Caribou and Artic Hare.
- We will cross the plateau and the Ten Mile Pond comes into view. A 700m high glacial carved fjord comes into view.
- Here we will eat lunch enjoying the scenic valley below.
- After lunch we begin our descent down through the scenic Ferry Gulch.
- Once back to the trail head we will return to the B&B. Then we head to Java Jacks for an evening meal.

Day 4

- Begin the morning at 8:00am with a short drive to the north end of the park.
- View beautiful Western Brook Pond Fjord, a stunning 700m glacial fjord, carved into the Long Range Mountains. Sheer cliff faces plunge into the cool deep waters of the fjord reaching 165m at its depth.
- Travel further north to the community of St. Paul’s.
- Test our paddling skills and start the morning with a paddle of St. Paul’s Inlet.
- Then we set out on a full day sea-kayaking adventure.
- Travel to beautiful Middle Island, home to approx. 10000 Arctic and Common Tern. This ecological reserve is one of the largest nesting sites in all of Newfoundland.
- Harbour Seals are frequently spotted in St. Paul’s Bay. Seal pups are usually curious and approach our kayaks. They play with the rudders of the kayaks, and usually move on or continue with us as we explore the beautiful bay.
- Paddle with stunning views of waterfalls and picturesque landscapes.
- Eat Lunch at the back of the fjord at beautiful place called Bottom Brook.
- After lunch we continue back, this can be challenging due to prevailing south-westerly winds that push straight against us.
- Bald Eagles are frequently seen along the coastline and usually come within good picture range. As well Moose and Woodland Caribou are frequently seen.
- Arrive back at the wharf at around 5:00pm and travel back to accommodations.

Day 5

- We begin the morning at 8:30am, and begin our bike journey north.
- This morning we have the winds in our back as we begin to bike the coastline from the community of Sally’s Cove to the community of Cow Head.
- Small side hikes will be done throughout the day.
- Our first stop will be at the beautiful Green Point and it rich geological history.
- Then we head on to the S.S Ethie, the remains of a shipwreck in December of 1919
- Eat Lunch at Western Brook and begin our travel further north.
- Our next stop is at Broom Point, an interpretive fishing exhibit that portraits a once past way of life.
- Then on to Cow Head for afternoon hike of the abandoned lighthouse at Cow Head.

- In the morning we start at 8:30am and we will complete a hike a Bakers Brook Falls.
- This waterfall is the largest in Gros Morne National Park based on water volume, averaging 10000L/per second
- Eat Lunch at Java Jacks before our return to Deer Lake for a trips end.
