The Mealy Mountains are located in southern Labrador and is home to a variety of wildlife species and is one of the next national parks in Canada. This area is rich in wildlife and geology. The Mealy Mountains and surrounding areas are home to one of the biggest caribou herds in the world. The George River caribou herd has a population of 500,000 strong. This is also home to the grey wolf, the black bear, and the occasional Polar Bear.
